OUR STORY

In 1943, the late T.R. Goins, the Rev. J.R. Funderburk and several other concerned citizens came together to organize the West Southern Pines Civic Club to improve the quality of life for black citizens of Southern Pines.  At the time there was no Black representation on the Southern Pines Town Council.
